One of Toronto's first co-operative nursery schools, Oriole has welcomed generations of Deer Park families since 1948. We're led by long-tenured educators and guided by a board of directors made up of parents, which keeps our classes small, our fees lower, and our community genuinely involved.
Families don't just attend Oriole — they become part of it. Parents help guide the school, educators get to know families well, and children return to the same familiar community each week. Oriole is non-denominational, and families of every background are welcome.

One for each class, set up for science, art, circle time and everything in between.

A full-size gym for gross-motor play, and a smaller one built for the youngest children — about 45 minutes a day. It's where the morning moves when it rains, or drops below −10°C.

West of the church, it's the heart of our preschool mornings and all of summer camp.
Enriched programming includes weekly French and specialist-led classes — all of it in the fee, with no add-ons.
A playful 30-minute class with a certified French teacher every Friday, plus daily French circle time in Extended Day.
Coach-led games that build coordination and confidence.
Singing, instruments and movement built into the week.
Stretching, balance and a little calm, at toddler pace.
Real specimens, experiments and questions worth asking.
Measuring, mixing and tasting together.
Planting and tending our own beds through the seasons.
Painting, collage and building, with room to get messy.
Days that bring parents into the room, not just to the door.
Seasonal parties, I Love You Day, the Holiday Party and Graduation.
“Our son has been at Oriole since the toddler class, and it has been a wonderful experience for our whole family. He is excited to go to school every morning, and all of his teachers have been so caring and supportive.”
“We've sent 3 kids there and couldn't be happier. The teaching staff has incredibly low turnover — the 3rd kid had the same teachers as the first.”
“Our daughter started at Oriole and simply fell in love with this place. The teachers are exceptional and the environment is ideal for children to thrive and grow in.”
“Fantastic nursery school where I sent all three of the kids — prepared them for school amazingly, met a whole bunch of parents and the kids found future friends they still hang out with now.”
“Having our two children attend Oriole Nursery School is still one of the best decisions we've made as parents. ONS provided the nurturing and stimulating experience any parent could hope for.”
“Oriole is a special place. The school has been around for a long time for good reason! Heather, Marzi and Emily are all wonderful teachers. My daughter started in the toddler program and she has really thrived there.”
