Our program emphasizes learning through play, where preschoolers learn about themselves, others, and their environment through actively exploring and experimenting with a variety of materials.
Our exceptional staff of Registered Early Childhood Educators are committed to developing young minds and fostering positive and memorable experiences for children and their families.
Our half-day camp program offers
weekly enrollment, offered mid-June to early September. Camp provides a variety of sensory and creative experiences for children aged 2 to 5 years, in our private, shaded playground.
WELCOME TO ORIOLE NURSERY SCHOOL
Oriole is a non-denominational, co-operative preschool, centrally located at Yonge and St Clair. We offer a morning programs for children ages 2 to 5, which emphasize learning through play, and mastering independence in a stimulating and social environment.
Oriole children have an outstanding "first school" experience in an enriched learning environment. With field trips, science, cooking, music and dance classes, Multi-Sport Kids, Weekly French classes, special guests, outdoor play in our secure, private playground and much more, children look forward to coming to school each day!
With the uncertainty presently surrounding us with COVID, Oriole wanted to create a program where older children can socialize, learn and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. This year, Oriole will be offering a small Kindergarten class for children eligible to enter Junior or Senior Kindergarten. The program is designed to run in conjunction with our existing Senior preschool class, with separate circle times to meet the learning needs of all children. Oriole’s existing Junior preschool class will continue to run separately.
Having our two children attend Oriole Nursery School is still one of the best decisions we've made as parents. ONS provided the nurturing and stimulating experience any parent could hope for. Between the music and French classes, tactile play stations, daily art projects and circle time, our kids felt happy and secure. This was especially important for our first born who was quiet, shy and nervous to be away from us for the first time. But all of the teachers and staff were so patient and experienced. We also loved the co-op nature of the school. By volunteering for an occasional assigned task, it allowed us to get to know the community of students and parents and see first-hand what our kids experience in the class each day. Now that my kids are in Grade 4 and 6, we've had several years of elementary years in good schools under our belt, and Oriole still stands out.
