Fees above are listed on a monthly basis, based on a simplified 10-month school year of September to June, inclusive. Oriole's school year begins the second week of September (on a staggered basis for new students), ends in mid-June, and includes statutory holidays and longer breaks in December and March. Details of total tuition fees are provided under “2024/2025 Total Tuition Fees (Full School Year)”, below.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

A non-refundable application fee of $150 must accompany the completed application form for each prospective new or returning student.

An $850 deposit is due four weeks following receipt of a formal acceptance letter from the Registrar.

Remaining tuition is due at dates specified by the Registrar. For students enrolled prior to the start of the school year, payment is made by 2 installments via cheques post-dated to August 1 and November 1, respectively. For students enrolled after November 1, the application fee and deposit are due prior to the student’s start date, and the remaining tuition is due two weeks after the family receives a formal acceptance letter from the Registrar.

Tuition fees for partial-year applicants will be prorated accordingly.

A $50 fee will be charged for any NSF cheques.

Full-year applicants have priority enrolment. As a result, partial-year applicants are not guaranteed and families may be asked to pay for the full-year in order to secure a space.
SIBLING DISCOUNT

Oriole offers a discount for sibling students enrolled during the same school year (in either the Toddler, Junior or Senior classes). Tuition fees (including the application fee and deposit) are charged at 100% for the first enrolment and at 95% (i.e. a 5% discount) for each additional enrolment.
REFUND POLICY

The application fee is wholly non-refundable.

The deposit is refundable if written notice of the student’s withdrawal is received 3 months prior to the student’s start date, and is otherwise typically non-refundable except at the Board's discretion.

Remaining tuition is refundable if Oriole receives written notification of a withdrawal no later than June 1, after which date refunds will be granted at the Board’s discretion.

No partial refunds will be granted for extended periods of absences.
PARTICIPATION

Oriole’s “participating program” is core to the school’s history, culture and proposition to families. Under this program, families assist in the classroom via Duty Days, scheduled once bi-weekly per student

Participating families who are unable to attend their assigned Duty Day may either switch with another available participating family, or can hire an Assistant at the cost of $90 per day.

Non-participating families are not required to assist in the classroom.

As a cooperative preschool, every family is asked to assist with the overall operations of the school via a Board or non-Board volunteer position.
