Oriole Nursery School is a non-denominational, co-operative preschool where parents get the unique opportunity to share in their child’s preschool experience through bi-weekly participation in the classroom. These Duty Days enable parents and caregivers to participate first hand in their child’s preschool experience, as a teacher’s assistant. Parents may also choose a non-participating status, opting out of Duty Days, for an additional fee.

Parents also participate in the school’s daily operations, through volunteer positions. Parents choose their level of participation within the community; volunteer jobs range from making play dough to being a member of the Board of Directors. Board members who choose a ‘participating’ status are only required to attend one Duty Day a week.

Our facilities consist of:

  • 3 inviting and well-equipped classrooms;

  • A music and movement room;

  • A Community hall which is used for our Music, Yoga and Dance programs and has a wide selection of toys to play with during poor weather;

  • A large private and secure outdoor playground that meets current codes and standards; and

  • Access to a fully equipped kitchen, where nutritious snacks are prepared by our teachers.

Our Program

Oriole runs morning only classes from 9:00am am to 11:45 am, September to June. Enrollment may begin at any time during the school year and fees will be pro-rated accordingly.
